Communications and Media Officer (Ref: CMO)

The Communication and Media Officer position requires a dynamic individual that will be responsible for creating, implementing and managing communication and media activations on behalf of the Sanitation Unit. The Sanitation Programme, a partnership between the Department of Science and Innovation and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is a programme aimed at creating support for innovators and technology developers in the water and sanitation sector. As part of this team, the successful incumbent will focus on improving the profile of the programme by strengthening public engagement and strategic communication.

Commercialisation Manager – Sanitation Unit (Ref:CM)

The WRC‘s Business Development and Innovation Department is tasked with scaling up and creating value and knowledge products and services for sector partners. As the Commercialisation Manager, your primary responsibility will be to develop and provide Intellectual Property (IP), Business Support Services and Industrialization support to the Sanitation Unit of the Water Research Commission. The successful candidate will work with a number of stakeholders to establish opportunities for industry partnerships and mechanisms to fast-track solutions to impact.

The WRC is looking for an outstanding leader to enhance its role as a national and global leader in water and sanitation research and innovation. Applicants must be in possession of a PhD in a water-related field, an appropriate Executive Leadership qualification will be an added advantage. The WRC CEO will lead the development and implementation of the WRC strategy as approved by the Board.
